Effective Date: September 17, 2026
Last Updated: September 17, 2026
Applies To: www.luminafutures.com, and any other domain or subdomain we operate that links to this Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Amanda Bielawski Consulting LLC, doing business as Lumina Futures (“we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with our website at www.luminafutures.com (the “Site”). This Policy is a disclosure of our practices, so that you can make informed choices about the information you send us. Your use of the Site is separately governed by our Website Terms and Conditions.
1. WHO WE ARE
1.1 The Site is operated by Amanda Bielawski Consulting LLC, doing business as Lumina Futures, a Washington limited liability company based in Olympia, Washington. For any privacy question or request, contact us at info@luminafutures.com or 215 Legion Way SW, Olympia, WA 98501.
2. SCOPE OF THIS POLICY
2.1 This Policy applies to information collected through the Site — for example, when someone browses our pages, submits a contact inquiry, or books a discovery call. It does not apply to information a Client shares with us in the course of a paid engagement (strategic plans, donor data, board materials, financial records, or similar). That information is governed instead by the confidentiality, data-handling, and IP terms in the Master Consulting Services Agreement and any Statement of Work or Retainer Agreement signed with that Client, which take precedence over this Policy for engagement-related data.
2.2 “Personal information” in this Policy means information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked with a particular individual.
3. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
3.1 Information You Provide Directly
— Contact and inquiry information: name, email address, phone number, organization, and the content of any message you send through a contact form, email, or the Site's inquiry channels.
— Scheduling information: when you book a discovery call through our online scheduling tool, Acuity and/or Calendly, we (and that provider) receive your name, email, time zone, and any notes you include.
— Newsletter or mailing list information (if applicable): your name and email address, and your subscription preferences, if you sign up to receive updates.
3.2 Information Collected Automatically
— When you visit the Site, our website platform, Squarespace, automatically collects your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, approximate geographic location (derived from IP address), and the date and time of your visit, through cookies and similar technologies. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any other third-party analytics or advertising service on the Site. See Section 4.
3.3 Information From Third Parties
— If you reach out via LinkedIn or another third-party platform, we may receive the information visible on your profile or included in your message, subject to that platform's own privacy practices.
— We may receive your name and contact information from a mutual colleague, client, or professional referral who introduces us.
4. COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES
4.1 The Site uses cookies and similar technologies. Squarespace sets cookies that are strictly necessary for the Site to function, and also sets analytics cookies (ss_cid, ss_cpvisit, ss_cvisit, ss_cvr and ss_cvt) that help us understand how visitors use the Site. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising, ad retargeting, or cross-context behavioral advertising. If that changes, we will update this Policy before we make the change.
4.2 You can accept or decline non-essential cookies through the cookie banner on the Site, and you can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how some parts of the Site function. The Site does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals, as no common industry standard for responding to them has been adopted. Because we do not sell or share personal information, we do not process opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control; if we ever begin selling or sharing personal information, we will honor those signals and update this Policy.
5. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
5.1 We use the information described in Section 3 to:
— Respond to inquiries and schedule discovery calls;
— Evaluate potential engagements and prepare proposals or Statements of Work;
— Send newsletter or thought-leadership content to people who have asked to receive it or who have an existing professional relationship with us, with a clear unsubscribe option in every message that we honor promptly;
— Understand and improve how visitors use the Site;
— Maintain business, tax, and legal records; and
— Comply with applicable law and protect our legal rights.
6. LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING (EU/UK/EEA VISITORS)
6.1 We do not direct the Site to, or market our services in, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. If the EU General Data Protection Regulation or the UK GDPR nevertheless applies to our processing of your personal information, we rely on one or more of these legal bases: your consent (for example, subscribing to a newsletter); the steps necessary to respond to your inquiry or to take steps at your request before entering into a contract; our legitimate interest in operating and improving a professional-services website, weighed against your rights; and compliance with a legal obligation.
7. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION
7.1 We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose it only as follows:
— Service providers who help operate the Site and our practice — for example, Squarespace (website hosting, site analytics, and email campaigns), our scheduling provider, our email and video-conferencing provider, our e-signature provider, and our accounting and invoicing software — each of which processes information on our behalf under a written agreement and is permitted to use it only to provide services to us.
— Professional advisors (accountant, attorney) on a confidential, need-to-know basis.
— Legal or regulatory authorities, if required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of others.
— A successor entity, in the event of a sale, merger, or reorganization of the business — subject to that successor honoring the commitments in this Policy for information collected under it.
8. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
8.1 Information collected through the Site is processed and stored in the United States. If you contact us from outside the United States, you are sending your information to the United States, which may not provide the same level of data protection as the law of your home jurisdiction.
9. DATA RETENTION
9.1 We retain contact inquiries that do not lead to an engagement for 24 months, then delete or anonymize them. Newsletter contact information is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it; after you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a suppression list so that we do not contact you again.
Information relating to an actual client engagement is retained under the record-keeping terms of the governing Master Consulting Services Agreement and for the periods required by applicable tax and legal requirements.
10. DATA SECURITY
10.1 We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction — for example, relying on reputable, security-conscious service providers and limiting who has access to inquiry and client records. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
11.1 All Visitors
You may ask us at any time to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, by emailing info@luminafutures.com. We will acknowledge your request promptly and respond within 45 days, and we will tell you if we need additional time.
11.2 California Residents
We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for any purpose that would require an opt-out. The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) applies only to businesses that meet statutory revenue or data-volume thresholds, and this practice does not meet them. Regardless, we will honor a California resident’s request to know, delete, or correct the personal information we hold about them.
11.3 EEA, UK, and Other GDPR-Adjacent Jurisdictions
If applicable data protection law grants you these rights, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information; restrict or object to our processing of it; and withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@luminafutures.com. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
11.4 Washington and Other U.S. State Residents
Washington’s My Health My Data Act regulates “consumer health data.” We do not collect, use, or share consumer health data through the Site, and we do not use the Site to infer any person’s health status. If that ever changes, we will publish a separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy and link to it prominently from our homepage, as that Act requires. We also do not sell sensitive personal data. Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have rights similar to those described in Section 11.2; contact us and we will honor a valid request regardless of your state of residence.
12. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
12.1 The Site is intended for business professionals and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. THIRD-PARTY LINKS
13.1 The Site may link to third-party sites (for example, LinkedIn, published articles, or client/partner websites). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Review their policies before providing information to them.
14. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
14.1 We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced with a notice on the Site. This Policy is accessible at all times from the footer of every page of the Site.
15. HOW TO CONTACT US
15.1 Questions, requests, or concerns about this Policy or our data practices can be sent to info@luminafutures.com or 215 Legion Way SW, Olympia, WA 98501.
